Pursuing the Vision (Habakkuk 2:1-3)
This sermon closes out our series on vision for the church. We've grappled with how God gives us vision, what the vision is, and how we are involved in it. Now we learn how to pursue it. Sometimes the vision isn't clear, or maybe we have our own thoughts of what it should look like. Nevertheless, we learn from Habakkuk that God needs to get us still, open up our hearts, open our ears, speak to us, and see how we respond!

    Vision of Giving (Philippians 4)
As God gave Himself to us, He expects us as believers to give ourselves back to Him. This giving includes everything from finances to time to our spiritual gifts. As we have a vision of giving, it allows God to use us to accomplish His purposes for His kingdom.

    Vision of Faith (Hebrews 11)
Following God's call isn't easy, especially when it's almost impossible to see the fruit of what you're working towards. Hebrews 11 shows us the lives of faithful people God used to build the foundation for the cross. They knew God's heart and vision, worked faithfully to be obedient, even though they'd never see the promise.

    Vision of Jesus (Matthew 16)
As God spoke to the prophets, He revealed Himself. In turn, the prophets were to tell the people about what God revealed to them about Himself. As Jesus went to the cross and rose from the grave, it created a new season, a new covenant, and a new way in how God would show the people salvation. As children of God, it's important to never waver from the truth of who Jesus is. We must always have a vision of His Lordship over us.

    Without Vision (Proverbs 29:18)
Without prophetic vision, the people (perish) cast off restraint. This verse in Proverbs helps us see that without Jesus as our vision and evangelism/discipleship as our mission, we will not make it as a church.
