When we obey the call to return to God, God’s anger will turn from us, he will heal our turning hearts, and his blessing will return to us. God sent Hosea to call Israel back to God. So Hosea exposed their sin and implored them to return to God, to begin again. Some of us would like to begin again with God—maybe all of us. We know we’re not all we should be with God and for God. Have you ever thought of every time of worship, whether public or private, as a place of beginning again? Worship is always a potential place of starting over for us.
