It's quite difficult to be committed to something you know nothing about! We are grateful that Jesus saves us but when that relationship begins, it takes knowing His Word to have a healthy relationship with Him. Communication is a key building block in every relationship, so when we don't know what He says to us, things can get confusing. In the early church we know they "devoted themselves" to God's Word and teaching. That shouldn't change today, even 2000+ years later. If we are going to be fully-devoted followers of Jesus, we must learn what it means to be "Devoted to God's Word"!
