In the last message of the "I AM" Sermon Series, we found Jesus stating to be "The Door" of the sheep. He allows the sheep (His followers) in and out of the sheepfold. In one act we see most clearly the shepherd’s care for the sheep. When the sheep are in imminent danger, the shepherd gives his life to save them. These sheep are his, and he loves them more than he loves his life. That’s why he lays down his life to protect his sheep. Jesus is the hero of the story. He will not allow anything to hurt or harm his sheep. No price is too great to pay for his sheep. This is why we find, in John 10, that Jesus is "The Good Shepherd"!
