This week the life of David takes us to the Valley of Elah where David meets Goliath the Philistine. What we learn is this great truth: "God leads us into impossible battles so He might be our warrior and the nations might know His name." As a shepherd boy in Bethlehem, David didn't think that in a thousand years he would be facing the giant Philistine, Goliath, when no one else would dare try. Sometimes we find ourselves in impossible situations that only God can get us through. In 1 Samuel 17, we have to remember that this story isn't about David's strength, but about the power of God who saves those who trust in Him!
