As we continue to dive into David's life, it reveals the instability of his relationship with Saul and his unwavering friendship with Saul's son, Jonathan. The distinction between Saul and his family reveals the difference between those who embrace God and His Messiah and those who reject Him. Saul's problem was spiritual long before it was psychological. He allowed his jealously of David to overwhelm his life and perspective. In the midst of all of this, Jonathan remains faithful to David because of their covenant friendship. Here is 1 Samuel 18-20, we definitely see how David is "Friend and Foe"!
