In 2nd Samuel 9:1-13, we see bring honor out of shame and reproach. Typically incoming Kings will wipe out everyone from the former kingdom so as not to have any rebellion rise up later. But the exception in this story is that King David had made his best friend Jonathan a promise, that he would take care of his family. When all else looked bleak for Mephibosheth (Jonathan's son), the King came through when it seemed all was without hope. This Old Testament picture gives us a gospel glimpse! Even when we are broken and in despair, the King always invites us to His table. Join us this week as we look at "A Story of Adoption"!
